Lesnar was last seen in WWE the night after he lost the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 31. After Rollins denied him an opportunity to win back the belt, Lesnar snapped, attacking the Raw announce crew and a poor cameraman:
Having Stephanie McMahon indefinitely suspend Lesnar for his actions was a smart way to write him off television. It explained why Lesnar couldn't appear on a full-time basis, while simultaneously building him up as more of a face for when he came back. Sooner or later, he'll get his revenge on Rollins and The Authority.
He has already beaten John Cena and Triple H, he snapped The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak, The Rock is probably shooting another movie and CM Punk isn't coming back to WWE anytime soon.
It makes little sense to put the belt on a guy like Roman Reigns or Dean Ambrose if he's just going to drop it to Lesnar this summer. A title reign like that would do more harm than good for an emerging star's career.
Having Lesnar take the World Heavyweight Championship from Rollins would wrap up that story arc and allow a new challenger—most likely Reigns—to rise. Many fans would love to see a rematch between Lesnar and Reigns after their great clash at WrestleMania:
